Semeli Safou was born in Athens, Greece. She studied Sociology at the University of Bristol and completed an MA on Ethnographic and Documentary Film, with a focus on Cinematic Documentary Storytelling. Her short doc 'All that remains' received the Best Directing Award of the Student Competition at the 45th Drama International Short Film Festival. Her film 'The Shore Across' was in the official selection of the 23rd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and received the Audience Award at the Ierapetra Documentary Festival.
