One of the most important events during the 7th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival is the Street School Cinema seminar by the founder, Tekla Taideli that will take place in Kalamata from 22nd of June till 4th of July. 

 

The Street Cinema School is a unique school that was founded in 2013 by Tekla Taideli, a neorealist director that works with actors she finds in the street!

Taideli has a mission: giving a voice back to the "invisble" people of the streets that they aren't usually in the spotlight. Using the texts of famous writers like Shakspear and Bukowski she creates multidimensional films. The seminar will take place during the 7th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival, inspired the 200 year anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the participants will use Pasolini's poems and people that will be recruted on the street.

 

About the participants

Athens School of Fine Arts students will be able to participate in the seminar but it is open to other filmmakers and young people of the region as it requires a lot of time. The participants will learn more about scrteenplay writing, direction, cinematography and editing. The whole point of the seminar is to produce with the minimum of equipment, in 2 weeks, a festival level short film. The film will debut in the ending ceremony of the 7th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival. The seminar will take place in Kalamara from 22nd June to 4th July with daily classes from 9am to 7pm.

  

 Some information about Tekla Tadeli 

In 2002 she graduated in Direction at the School of Cinema Television and New Media in Milan where she also attended the Filmmaker course in 1999. Director, author and curator of documentaries. In 2004 she self-produced her first feature film 'FUORI VENA', selected at the 58th Locarno Film Festival and winner of the 23rd Sulmona Film Festival. In 2013 she founded the 'STREET CINEMA SCHOOL' (FB A Scuola di Street Cinema by Tekla Taidelli), where she, the only underground female neo-realist director in Italy, teaches her idea of ​​cinema.
