Co-production invitation towards Greek and Spanish filmmakers by 7th Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival.

A new collaboration agreement between Peloponnisos International Doc Film Festival and Zinebi Film Festival from Bilbao, Spain that has been a notable event for 62 years now.

This collaboration has the purpose of bringing closer the production of both countries with screenings and co-production initiatives for filmmakers. For that reason there are some events that will take place during the physical release of the festival at 7-16 May 2021.

  1. Dedicated tribute in Basque Cinema, with present the filmmakers.
  2. An invitation towards Basque and Greek filmmakers/producers regarding co-production opportunities between the two countries regarding the production of a 90 minute vertebrate documentary with the common theme of this year’s festival “Claiming Freedom”.

This invitation is addressed towards Greek filmmakers/producers to present their ideas regarding a short documentary (15’) with “Claiming Freedom” as a theme. Then 3 ideas will be chosen from each country that will be art of that 90 minute vertebrate documentary. The 6 Greek and Basque filmmakers/producers will meet in Kalamata in May during the festival, so they can arrange their collaboration. This project will be conducted by the leaders of each festival. The festival will be able to cover:

  1. The expenses of transporting/acomodation in Kalamata
  2. Some of the gear, provided by the festival.
  3. The color correction of the film, provided by Stefilm.

The finished film will be screened in both Zinebi and Peloponnisos IDFF, along with Faitodoc festival in Naples, Italy.
The film will need to be in a certain possible budget and for an international audience.

The proposal needs to include

  1. Long synopsis/preview od the project (1-2 pages long)
  2. Treatment, if possible
  3. Director’s note regarding the story and the aesthetic approach
  4. Estimated budget
