A musical journey through the traditional music of Italy and the southern Mediterranean, and anywhere the heart moves.

A repertoire with no age, made of songs, dances and serenades!

Jazz concert by Arionas Gyftakis Quartet

Μετά την τελετή έναρξης και την προβολή του ντοκιμαντέρ “Queen Mimi” του Yaniv Rokah, την Παρασκευή 18 Ιανουαρίου, θα πραγματοποιηθεί συναυλία τζaζ από το Κουαρτέτο του Αρίωνα Γυφτάκη – ένα τζαζ κουαρτέτο το οποίο ασχολείται με τους ιμπρεσσιονιστικούς χώρους αυτής της μουσικής. Το κουαρτέτο αποτελείται από τους Τζώρτζη Τσιρόπουλο στο σαξόφωνο, τον Τρύφωνα Τύπου στο πιάνο, τον Αναστάση Γούλιαρη στα τύμπανα και τον Αρίωνα Γυφτάκη στο κοντραμπάσσο.

Arionas Gyftakis was born in Kalamata in 1995. At the age of seven he started violin lessons in the Municipal Conservatory in Kalamata.After four years, he started electric bass lessons with Nikos Tsotra and Harry Charalampous.His great interest for jazz music led him to start bass courses so, at the age of 14 he started jazz bass with Sylvios Syrros.During these four years he also studied jazz harmony, improvisation and workshops.The last two years he had also studied classical bass with Takis Kappogianni. In May 2013 ,he gave exams in Berklee College of Music,where he won the Full Presidential Scholarship.
Since September 2013 he has been studying in Boston at Berklee College of Music, where he follows lessons with Eddie Gomez and Hal Crook.

Twenty Greek artists responded to the call of the 5th Peloponnisos International Documentary Festival and the artistic group of Kalamata by the name “Kallitexniko Steki”, and created works made of clay, gypsum and other materials, based on gender equality, the festival’s main tribute of this year.
Artists from Patra, Thessaloniki, Athens and Kalamata, approached the topic each in their own unique way, through abstract or figurative depiction, thus highlighting concepts, values and balances
