He has directed and produced documentaries like “An Early Sunset”; on the lost glory of slum footballers of Asia, telecast on Ten Sports: “Iron Slaves"; about the lives of ship breakers of Southeast Asia, an Official Selection of “Workers of the World United Film Festival, Broadway, New York, 2009: His debut psycho-thriller feature film HOTAL (with A) won "The Best Film" and "The Best Actress" awards from the Delhi International Film Festival, 2014. Unmasking, a short film on vaccine hesitancy by Khalid Hasan Khan has won awards from the Istanbul Film Awards, Istanbul, Turkey; World Film Carnival, Singapore, Rameshwaram International Film Festival, Ramanathapuram, India; Indo French International Film Festival, Pondicherry, India; Marudham Indie Film Festival, Chennai, India; Golden Leaf international Film Festival, Port Blair, India; Virgin Spring Cinefest, Kolkata, India, Halicarnassus Film Festival, Bodrum, Turkey and ARG International Film Festival, Argenteuil, France in 2021. Murder of Mystic, an environmental documentary on the devastation of Indus delta mangroves by Khalid Hasan Khan has won an eco-selection award from the floating city of Venice, Italy, this year. The Painterist, a short experimental movie, by the filmmaker, has been awarded by The Buddha International Film Festival, in the same year. A sport documentary by Khalid Hasan Khan; Barefoot with Godfather of Soccer-Unwanted but Undaunted, an interfaith soccer documentary, has won awards from Tagore International Film Festival and Global Indian International Film Festival in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
