Μίλα Λιούις

Milla Lewis is a director and cinematographer whose work focuses on the intersection of history, memory and myth. Drawn to the stories that form us, and the stories we tell ourselves, her films explore ideas around migration, womanhood, trauma memory, and sexual politics.

Milla has written and directed a variety of films, including ‘Mercy’, a short fiction exploring power dynamics and sexual alienation through the lens of male desire, and is currently co-directing ‘Beyond The Red Light’, a feature documentary about North Macedonia’s only open trans sex worker. Milla is the current recipient of the one-year Directing Mentorship Programme at the Polish National Film School in Łódź (2021/22).
